Order a kit for £20, including postage.

Make your mould and send the kit back to Dee in the same box.

The £20 will be applied to the cost of your order.

IMPRESSION KIT FAQ

Can I make more than one piece of jewellery with my kit?

Yes! Each kit contains enough putty to make more than one mould or you can order multiple pieces from one mould.

How long do I have to use the kit?

Each kit's instructions will have a specific expiry date but you typically have 6 months for best results. Just keep the kit at consistently room temperature.

What can I make a mould of?

The texture on your pet's nose or one of their toe beans. A piece of fabric that carries meaning for you. Tree bark. A leaf.

Really, anything that is solid, dry, and has texture.

Just note that this kit is focused on capturing textures, not whole forms. So you won't receive a 3D replica of your pet's nose, for instance.

How do I send the kit back?

Royal Mail Large Letter 48 HR Tracked is the service I use to ship the kit and finished pieces. I highly recommend a tracked service.

The return address is provided in the kit instructions.

Do you ship internationally?

For now - Just to the United Kingdom (Northern Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales).

I aim to be able to send to Ireland and the rest of the EU as well, however new upcoming regulations in addition to the Brexit issues require thorough research and preparation to get my ducks in a row, first.

Are there any other styles of rings available?

I'll be adding the catalogue of available styles over time. But if you're interested in a particular style, please send me an email at dee@quirkybutfierce.com and we'll see if we can make it happen.

How long does it take to get my finished piece back?

I will create a wax model using your texture mould before casting in your chosen precious metal in my studio.

From there, your piece will be hallmarked in the Edinburgh Assay Office before being shipped to you.

The entire process typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. Delays may occur during busy seasons. I’ll keep you informed.

What if my ring doesn't fit?

Let me know within 30 days of receiving your ring and we can resize it one time at no additional charge. Any resizing after that will incur a charge.

Can I use my own silver or gold?

Yes! However, there is an additional charge as I have to make a separate flask just for your piece(s) which requires more investment and takes up more kiln space.

Can I send the kit to someone as a gift?

Yes - as long as the person lives in the UK. Buy them a kit and then buy them a Gift Card to cover the cost of the final piece. You can mark as a gift and write a personal message when checking out.

Is it safe to use the mould compound on my pet's nose?

Yes! The mould compound is non-toxic and non-hazardous. However, it should not be ingested and supervision should always be used around pets and children. The data safety sheet can be found HERE.

What is a hallmark?

A hallmark is a series of marks applied to an item of precious metal by an independent, government-appointed Assay Office. There are currently four Assay Offices in the United Kingdom: Edinburgh, London, Sheffield and Birmingham. Hallmarks can only be applied to an item after it has been tested through a process known as ‘assaying’, where the precious metal content is verified.

In the United Kingdom, any silver object over 7.78 grams or any gold object over 1 gram must be hallmarked.
